Transparency.

"To love at all is to be vulnerable. Love anything and your heart will be wrung and possibly broken. If you want to make sure of keeping it intact you must give it to no one, not even an animal. Wrap it carefully round with hobbies and little luxuries; avoid all entanglements." C.S. Lewis.

Vulnerability can be a beautifully heart wrenching quality. But I think it's something we all desire and want a little piece of. To be known and truly loved. To be accepted, chosen and seen as beauty--regardless of our mess.

I used to be afraid of transparency and letting people in to see me. I used to think I needed walls for protection.

The walls were suffocating. Not only were they squelching everything I was, but hiding the One I was living for.

Transparent: a picture (as on film) viewed by light shining through it.

Then I realized life wasn't about me at all.

Now I just want people to see the Jesus in me.

The light of Jesus shining through.

I want to leave traces of Jesus everywhere I go.

Thankfully when we fail and mess up, His light is strong and gentle and shines through our cracks anyways.

Vulnerability is always worth it.

There is no other way to be, when at the Father's feet.

“Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life."” John‬ ‭8:12‬ ‭ESV‬‬

Praying for light to shine.
